Review:
This was a great Pearl Jam show, but declaring a PJ show “great” is like declaring grass … green.
This was a great crowd. It was hard to hear EV’s voice at times because everyone in the MGM Grand Garden Arena was singing along to every word of every song (you can see an example of this in this youtube video). There were people from all over the country, and each one was a hardcore PJ fan. Even though Seattle crowds tend to be the best, Vegas is an interesting place to see a show because fans fly in from all over the country to see particular bands and once these major fans and the band get under one roof, the crowd and the band feeds off of each other like few other cities … and that includes Madison Square Garden.
PJ opened the show with Mike McCready-penned “Inside Job” which sounded 100 times better live than on CD.
I have always said that McCready was arguably the most underrated guitarist on the planet, and that was on full display at this show.
This concert took place on George W. Bush’s birthday, and EV said “this next song is for the birthday boy”, then the band launched headfirst into CCR’s “Fortunate Son”, closing with a 5 minute version of “Porch”.
You cannot really write a review of Pearl Jam. They are Pearl Jam. That’s all that needs to be said.

went to this concert. huge PJ fan so I flew my friend and myself there from Tampa just for the concert..went to 7 previous shows and this one was the best. We’re all going to Vegas again in July ’07, just to be there.
