We just got back from Vegas and had the world buffet at the rio. We went on wednesday 2/7/06 at 7pm, and were expecint long waits. To our surprise the most we waited to get in the buffet was less than 5 min. Timing is key and i just got lucky. Loved the buffet and drink specials.

    Marcy,

Thanks for leaving your comment. I’m glad your wait was brief and that you enjoyed the buffet. We always enjoyed Rio’s buffet as well, even with our unlucky timing and long wait in line. Now that we live here, we are able to time our visits during non-peak hours.

Best bang for your buck in Las Vegas…$15.99 for lunch plus the $5.00 off coupon is $10.00 plus tax…get there just before 3:30pm and you get the dinner food…king crab legs, prime rib, etc, etc…nothing too outstanding or fancy…decent selection of desserts, but for $10.99 you come out bloated on some pretty good food and a pretty wide selection…best $10 bucks you can spend in Vegas ($12 w/ tax)

When we get overcharged, it usually takes up to 7 business days after calling and reporting the error, before the credit actually shows up on our card. You may want to call Rio back and confirm that your credit has been processed. You can also report this error to your credit card company.

Rio no longer puts out king crab for dinner…only snow crab as of last week…so you might want to consider a different buffet if you’re paying over $25 with tax and are hunting out the Vegas King Crab (But I’ll still take the snow if I’m there at 3:20pm with a $5 off coupon for lunch, god I’m bad).

That’s too bad. It’s been a few months since we’ve been there. Thanks for the heads up Aaron.

Quite enjoyed the cold array of dishes at the seafood buffet but found a lot of the hot dishes dry! Lovely great big pile of oysters atop a huge mound of ice! Very noisy - decked out a lot like a San Fransisco waterfront joint with extremely hard bench-like seating! I suggest try thr Wynn instead - same priced food in nicer surroundings and their seafood isn’t bad either!
