The Bellagio buffet is truly the one to beat. If you only try one buffet in Vegas, this is the one to try. It has everything for everyone. The only people that may not like this buffet, would be those that do not like trying something new and paying for it. The prices are on the higher end, but you do get what you pay for. It’s a nice treat that you can’t get everywhere. If you like Hometown Buffet and that’s your kind of food, then do not try Bellagio’s for you’ll just feel ripped off. If you want to try a high end buffet, and don’t mind paying $60-$80 per couple, then you should try it. They have open shell crab legs, a wide assortment of hot and cold dishes, and many delicious desserts. Our favorite is the chocolate dipped strawberries. The staff is very friendly and the ambiance is quite comfortable, not stuffy. The wait can get pretty long, so try to avoid the obvious peak hours. For example, go at the beginning of dinner like 5pm, rather than 7pm. Better yet, go at the end of lunch, pay for lunch and stay for dinner, especially if you’re on a budget.

We returned to the Bellagio Buffet this afternoon. This was completely unplanned. Our youngest daughter (4 months old as of yesterday) was content, and we were starving from walking around the Strip playing tourist, so we took the chance. We have not eaten out since our daughter’s birth b/c we just didn’t want to disturb other patrons, but here we were. She was very quiet throughout our meal btw.
Ok, now for the review. We arrived at 3:30pm so we paid for lunch and stayed for dinner. There was no line. It was $29.99 per adult and they were beginning to serve their gourmet dinner dishes. 2 dishes that stood out, that I had not tried before were appetizer sized crab cakes and crispy wonton wrapped shrimp (shaped like a long thin ice cream cone, chipstick sized). They were both delicious. The crab cakes actually had chunks of real crabmeat in it and were crispy on the outside while flavorful on the inside. The only complaint was that they were a tad salty. If you like sushi, theirs is fresher than most. Their leg of lamb was very tender and juicy as usual, almost melts in your mouth. Their crab legs were as good as expected, big, cut open, fresh, and never too salty. Their chocolate (white and dark) dipped giant strawberries was a great end to a very satisfying meal.
The dining area was not as crowded as I had expected, considering it’s Saturday afternoon and Memorial Day weekend. The buffet was about 70% full. Bellagio buffet’s dining area and food stations are very average looking. There is no wow factor or a sense of being in one of the world’s most popular buffets. You can look at some of the photos taken below, and judge for yourself. Aside from the ambiance, the food selection is good and quality is excellent and service is decent. This is still my second favorite buffet, first being Wynn’s.
