The Bellagio buffet is truly the one to beat. If you only try one buffet in Vegas, this is the one to try. It has everything for everyone. The only people that may not like this buffet, would be those that do not like trying something new and paying for it. The prices are on the higher end, but you do get what you pay for. It’s a nice treat that you can’t get everywhere. If you like Hometown Buffet and that’s your kind of food, then do not try Bellagio’s for you’ll just feel ripped off. If you want to try a high end buffet, and don’t mind paying $60-$80 per couple, then you should try it. They have open shell crab legs, a wide assortment of hot and cold dishes, and many delicious desserts. Our favorite is the chocolate dipped strawberries. The staff is very friendly and the ambiance is quite comfortable, not stuffy. The wait can get pretty long, so try to avoid the obvious peak hours. For example, go at the beginning of dinner like 5pm, rather than 7pm. Better yet, go at the end of lunch, pay for lunch and stay for dinner, especially if you’re on a budget.

We returned to the Bellagio Buffet this afternoon. This was completely unplanned. Our youngest daughter (4 months old as of yesterday) was content, and we were starving from walking around the Strip playing tourist, so we took the chance. We have not eaten out since our daughter’s birth b/c we just didn’t want to disturb other patrons, but here we were. She was very quiet throughout our meal btw.

Ok, now for the review. We arrived at 3:30pm so we paid for lunch and stayed for dinner. There was no line. It was $29.99 per adult and they were beginning to serve their gourmet dinner dishes. 2 dishes that stood out, that I had not tried before were appetizer sized crab cakes and crispy wonton wrapped shrimp (shaped like a long thin ice cream cone, chipstick sized). They were both delicious. The crab cakes actually had chunks of real crabmeat in it and were crispy on the outside while flavorful on the inside. The only complaint was that they were a tad salty. If you like sushi, theirs is fresher than most. Their leg of lamb was very tender and juicy as usual, almost melts in your mouth. Their crab legs were as good as expected, big, cut open, fresh, and never too salty. Their chocolate (white and dark) dipped giant strawberries was a great end to a very satisfying meal.

The dining area was not as crowded as I had expected, considering it’s Saturday afternoon and Memorial Day weekend. The buffet was about 70% full. Bellagio buffet’s dining area and food stations are very average looking. There is no wow factor or a sense of being in one of the world’s most popular buffets. You can look at some of the photos taken below, and judge for yourself. Aside from the ambiance, the food selection is good and quality is excellent and service is decent. This is still my second favorite buffet, first being Wynn’s.

What did you think of the service and atmosphere at the Bellagio buffet? I found both to be disappointing in lieu of the high price. I was there for breakfast during a slow time and the service was also..”slow”.

    Fabulous pictures!

    Thanks again.

I agree that for the price, service and atmosphere could use some improvement, especially service. Also, during peak hours, instead of having patrons wait in ridiculously long lines for hours, why not open more registers and perhaps even expand the dining area (why not since it’s probably the most popular buffet in Las Vegas). Maybe having more “servers” would allow them to provide better service, because each server would be responsible for less tables.

Great Buffet, I agree totally with your top 5 and was excited to try the Wynn since Bellagio had been my favorite over the last 5 years I’ve been coming to Vegas (I’ve now recently moved here). The Wynn is outstanding, however, I have to place the Bellagio Gourmet Weekend buffet (Friday+Saturday) ahead of the Wynn (and their dinner buffet/weekend buffet) due to the fact that Bellagio’s desserts are first class. Their Mango floating Island is out of this world and they have a greater variety of desserts as well. Also, I’m a big fan of Rack of Lamb, and although The Wynn places this out on their weekend buffet, the Wynn seems to spice it wrong…they use a cajun spice instead of the traditional rosemary+Pepper+salt normally used in this dish. Also, I enjoy Kobe Beef and other not-so traditional gourmet offerings that the Bellagio throws out there…(Bison on some days). Other than their weekend buffet, the Wynn has it beat. But if you can get there prior to 4pm on a Friday right before dinner begins, it’s without a doubt, the best deal in town. Great website by the way, something like this on the internet was certainly overdue.

Thanks for the great information Aaron. I do agree with you on the desserts being more abundant and elaborate at the Bellagio. That’s definitely something Wynn could improve on. I do enjoy Bellagio’s gourmet weekend dinner buffet as well. It’s great for people that would like to try different/new treats, with less risk.

Hopefully more people like you and Kim will add their experiences and share them with us.

    Thanks again.

Going to Vegas next month and I have the following questions:

    1. what is the difference between a Bellagio dinner buffet on a weekday and the gourmet dinner buffet on a weekend?

    2. should we stay at the Bellagio or the Venetian?

    Thanks.

    vegas_bound,

    1. The difference is about $8.00 more for gourmet, and the gourmet dinner offers entrees that the weekday dinner doesn’t offer on a regular basis. These entrees differ depending on the night. For example: crabcakes, shrimp wrap, …

    2. They are both excellent choices. If you haven’t stayed at either location, are you able try both during this trip?

Bellagio is far superior to the other buffets in LV. My wife and I stayed at Bellagio on our honeymoon in December and LOVED Bellagio! We toured the other hotels, but none compared to the Bellagio. Selection and extravagence is uncomparable, however a word to the wise, bring a little extra $$, cause you will need it in Vegas.
