Either they built around this particular room in the Planet Hollywood Tower, or it somehow got broken out.
Since people are beating down the door to every developer to buy a condo on The Strip, it’s great to see this project finally getting finished off.
There are a couple of other developments about the PH Tower that I have noticed over the last month, but am just now getting around to mentioning.
First, they now turn the sign off during the day. Many speculated that it was only on to “burn-in” the sign, and that speculation seems to have been accurate.
Second the light at night is not nearly as bright.
Jesus, that wasn’t supposed to rhyme like some bad scene from My Fair Lady.?? Sometimes it really is just a coincidence.
Anyway, speaking of windows, I was speaking with someone earlier in the week about just how sturdy the floor to ceiling windows were in the hotel rooms. While we were standing in front of the Encore picture windows, and opined at how many drunken idiots did a “Look at me!” right before running across the room and throwing themselves into one.
I’m not asking if this has happened. I KNOW it’s happened … it does make me curious how much pressure they can withstand, though.
Exactly, how much suicidal determination do you have to have to break one through to the other side?
Back in February, I went up for a photo session in the Stratosphere, and I actually lost my balance and fell against one of the windows that tilt out at a 45 degree angle. I am not afraid of heights, but I will admit that it did freak me out. When you go to pick yourself up, place your hands on a transparent surface, and all you can see is Las Vegas Boulevard 1,000 feet below you … the mind does not process that information in a calm way. You literally get butterflies because it is such a surreal experience.
With more and more glass structures going up in Vegas, I can’t help but wonder how long it is before someone goes flying out of a window.
