Boulder Highway between Sahara Ave and Tropicana is referred to as “The Boulder Strip”.
It basically consists of Boulder Station, Arizona Charlie’s, Sam’s Town, and (as of last week) The Eastside Cannery. There are a couple of other hotels and motels thrown in, but these are the major ones.
The reason I rarely photograph or video the area, is because it just doesn’t seem terribly interesting to me.
I do go to the Boulder Station somewhat often (especially the Railhead concert venue), but AZ Charlie’s and Sam’s Town are not frequent stops for me.
I realize that gaming and room value is much better on Boulder Highway, but it is about 5 miles east of The Strip, and is therefore not of huge interest to most visitors. Nevertheless, it is there, and is worth checking out if you haven’t been.
I kind of like the animated beavers in the Sam’s Town display.
You heard me right, animated Beavers.
If that doesn’t peak your interest, I don’t know what will.
Anyway, far from being a Strip Snob, I went ahead and recorded the riveting drive down The Boulder Strip.
If this doesn’t get your adrenaline flowing, I don’t know what will.
Those with heart conditions or other health problems should not view the video, as sensory overload of the visual cortex is a real concern when one views the intense imagery of Boulder Highway.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
