The lion cage has been empty more often than not lately.
I’m not sure where they are, or what they’re doing, but the cub finally came out this weekend.
At least I think it’s the cub. It may be the female lion. What the hell do I know about wildlife?
Let’s just say that A LION finally made an appearance.
It seemed to be in a fine, if not downright relaxed mood.
I’ve got about a minute of the beast in the video above.
I wish they wouldn’t pipe the fake growl through the speakers every 60 seconds or so. It’s very odd, and looks like a really bad kung-fu movie. Often when the lion is just sitting there doing nothing, you hear this enormous”Roooaaaaaaar” through the speakers.
Everyone always clamors to see how the lion roared without moving its mouth.
Someone always invariably asks “Which lion roared?” or “Where did that come from?”
The answer is that it came from an MP3 player in the back room somewhere.
They pump in fake roars for effect.
In my opinion, it is unnecessary.
It is more than interesting enough to simply watch the lions without the unnatural and utterly confusing sound effects.
