Are You Bored Yet? More Construction Stuff …

posted in Las Vegas |

There seems to be a particular bias against construction photos.

“Who cares, just show us when the hotels are done.”

“It’s a snoozefest …”

“It’s like watching paint dry.”

“I can see construction in my own town.”

I’ve gotten many comments along these lines over the past year, which is why I have slowed down on the construction updates.

They are the least popular of all posts, and some people outright detest them as a waste of bandwidth.

The overwhelming majority of people don’t care about the property until they can book it, and frankly, construction doesn’t do much for me either.

I’ve seen the models of what the properties will look like.

We all have.

So it’s not like the photos provide any “Golly-gee, who would have thought they would do THAT?” insights.

Construction is dirt, concrete, steel, and equipment.

Anybody who hasn’t seen a construction site lives under a rock. Or in West Virginia. Same difference.

However … with that being said, anytime I go for a month without an update, I will get a”Hey, could you get some shots of the construction progress, you haven’t posted any in awhile.”

Clearly you can’t please everyone.

I’m going to have to bore the shit out of many people to please a few, but hey, VegasRex is a proud supporter of the minority community.

And from what I gather, people do like video. Even if it is video of completely mundane crap. It’s the sole reason that YouTube exists.

So, much like Easy Ed on a Vegas Vacation, I will try to please everyone a little bit. (inside joke)

At the top of this post is a video of me taking the shuttle from the Wynn to the monorail.

The Wynn monorail shuttle runs between the Convention Center station and the Wynn casino. This is also a reason why I frequently get off at the Convention Center station.

The shuttle takes me directly to the Wynn, Fashion Show Mall, Palazzo, TI, and Peppermill. It’s a great shuttle to access the north-mid-Strip area that the Monorail completely ignores (because Steve didn’t want the thing on his property).

I recorded my latest trip on said shuttle, and you can see some of the construction stuff in the video … along with a bunch of other irrelevant stuff … like random cars driving down the Strip and tourists yapping.

Some photos, for those of you who like them, are below.
