Koval and Winnick???

Koval and Winnick

I took the photo above at the intersection of Koval and Winnick.

This is Winnick Ave., just yards after turning onto it from Koval.

I use the photo here to illustrate a point.

For those who don’t know, Koval and Winnick is smack in the middle of nowhere and “where the hell are we?”

I take Winnick all the time as a shortcut to the Flamingo or Harrah’s, but there is nothing there but a drainage ditch, vacant lots, and some older two story apartment buildings.

There are no clubs, bars, casinos, or even convenience stores at that intersection.

There is nothing there at all.

There is nothing within several blocks of the location.

Not even two places exist that anyone would reach by traversing this area on foot.

Obviously everyone has heard about the Oakland Raiders’ player named Javon Walker getting mugged at this intersection yesterday. It’s all over the news because this guy gets paid to play a game. If it were Joe Blow from Iowa, you wouldn’t be able to find the story with a microscope.

I don’t really care about this “celebrity” bullshit because there are tons of other things that happen which barely make the news at all (see: Pedestrians Struck By Car), but the thing that puzzles me beyond belief is the location.

Why in the holy hell would anyone be at this intersection?

I simply cannot fathom anyone being on foot at the intersection of Koval and Winnick.

And for that reason, the story intrigues me.

I mean, maybe I’m missing something. Maybe there is some real happening shit that goes down on Winnick on Mondays that I don’t know about. This is what I am on pins and needles to hear.

I am eagerly awaiting the press statement that says “I was at Koval and Winnick at 7am because …. “

What comes after will either blow me away or make me laugh my ass off, because I just can’t fathom whatever he says making any sense.

Who knows, though. Like I said, maybe I’m out of the loop.

Maybe they sell really bitchin’ crack there or something.

Time will tell.

This is Winnick looking back toward Koval.

Enticing, no?

Here is Winnick and Audrie, where “some” of the action also supposedly took place.
