Finally Getting an Inside Look

Pearl Las Vegas

I can’t believe that the Pearl Theater at the Palms has already been open for several months, and I have yet to attend an event there.

This is the only music venue near The Strip that I have not availed myself of.

The booked performances to date really haven’t been my genre, and the ticket prices have been pretty nasty ($250 for Gwen Stefani?).

But finally, they got someone in there that I would be willing to pay $90-ish for. The Smashing Pumpkins … well, half of the original SPs … are playing tonight at 8pm.

This is by far the best show they have booked to date in my humble opinion, and judging by the under 1 hour it took the show to sell out, I probably am not alone in that opinion.

I am looking forward to finally seeing the inside of the place, but I do have some concerns.

Has all of Britney’s discharge been cleaned up? I don’t want to slip and fall. That might hurt.

Did they clean up the P. Diddy? That stuff gets real sticky if not mopped up immediately. (Have you ever seen the underside of a public toilet seat?)

Is Kid Rock going to punch me in the face? That might hurt.

Is Tommy Lee going to punch me in the …. never mind, I can kick Tommy Lee’s ass.

Is that Chris Brown kid going to break into a bad Michael Jackson lipsync routine in the seat in front of me? That might hurt as I would jab myself in the temple with my keychain in an attempt to put myself out of my misery.

Is George Maloof’s pig going to be seated anywhere near me? We know he likes his pig, and takes it everywhere.

I’m hoping the pig is more of a Stefani fan, and isn’t interested in going to this particular show.

Other than the concerns outlined above, hopefully it will be a good gig.
