Imperial Palace Las Vegas Flood

The parking lot of the Imperial Palace and adjacent Harrah’s is completely flooded.

It is cordened off from below, so I am not sure if there is any internal damage to the properties.

One of the reps I spoke with outside told me that the water had run off from a storm in the Spring Mountains and had overflowed the flood channel. This is what caused the massive cascade of water to engulf the lower level IP parking structure.

It looks pretty bad from the outside, but by the time I got there, the rep told me that it had gone down significantly from an hour prior. He said that it was waist high at one point.

It appears that some nearby residences were effected as well.

It’s a pretty nasty scene.

A similar thing happened when I was at the Imperial Palace last year during a rain storm. The IP and Harrah’s are right next to a storm channel, and it doesn’t take much to cause it to overflow onto the surrounding streets.

If you click “play” on the last image you can see a brief video of the water gushing out of the garage area, and back into the channel.
