Misery Loves Company

posted in Las Vegas |

So I am getting ready to go keep it company.

Soul Asylum is taking the stage at 8pm at Boulder Station, and having missed them at the House of Blues in December … I would be an idiot to let it happen again.

Fifteen or so years ago when I was a musician, there was always a silly debate on who stole who’s hair.

I had almost exactly Pirner’s hair-style (or rather complete lack of any style) before I had ever heard of Soul Asylum, and had it for 10+ years. But when this video hit heavy rotation on MTV, people naturally assumed that I aped his rag.

So I plan to settle this issue once and for all tonight. With scissors if necessary. If you wake up to a headline tomorrow reading “Soul Asylum lead singer in brawl at Boulder Station” … well … my bad.

Seriously, they put on great live shows.

If you are in town, and happen to read this … try to make the show. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

P.S.  I just realized that you have to click the above video twice and view it directly at YouTube because the asshats at Sony/BMG (the fine folks who brought you Simon Cowell) don’t permit embedding.  Why?  I have no idea.
