It can currently be seen from everywhere in the Las Vegas Valley.
Avoid the area if at all possible. Hopefully it will be under control shortly.

actually, it was never far out of control.
the fire engine that rushed there (’bout half a mile from flamingo/rebel road, mile and a half from russell road. not faulting you, but the tv stations covering this thing were just totally ridiculous.)
where was i? first fire engine arrived with sirens about 5:10, calmly left ten minutes later, maybe because they couldn’t drive close enough. a smaller tanker arrived about 20 minutes later, no sirens.
your pictures are probably better than mine, though i was right there.
the only danger was smoke early on. even the gawkers were driving carefully and politely.
again, the tv folks, especially on channel 13, were really stretching to make more of it than was actually there.
better if they’d presented it as the southwest’s delayed attempt to compete with the strip’s implosion excitement.
